FALLS CHURCH, VA—The Journal of Prosthetics and Orthotics (JPO), the official journal of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (the Academy), is pleased to announce that it has received its first Impact Factor of 0.6 from Clarivate’s 2022 Journal Citation Reports™ (Clarivate Analytics, 2023).
Obtaining an initial Impact Factor marks a major milestone for the journal. It signifies its growing influence within the scientific community and its dedication to publishing valuable and relevant research.
The Impact Factor provides a quick and reliable evaluation of a journal’s influence and reputation. This new metric affirms the journal’s quality and reach for readers and attracts more authors, thus ushering in continued accessibility, visibility, and growth in the years to come.
Editor-in-Chief Steve Gard, PhD, is very proud of this milestone achievement; he stated, “I regard this achievement for JPO as recognition of the quality improvements we have been implementing over a number of years. Having an Impact Factor is beneficial not only for prosthetic and orthotic research but for our entire profession.”
