Clinical Knowledge Summaries
The Academy's Clinical Knowledge Summaries are loosely based on those developed by the National Health Service in the United Kingdom (Pandy, 2008; Richards, 2009). They aim to assist clinicians with implementing evidence-based practice through the distillation of secondary research sources into clinically relevant information.
The Clinical Knowledge Summary is based on an existing systematic review or meta-analysis. Clinically relevant information is identified from that review and presented in a format that is easy to access, read, and apply to clinical practice. They are designed to present extracted information from the best available evidence in order to make recommendations regarding clinical practice.
