The Academy is proud to announce that it has launched a new Bone-Anchored Prosthetics Scientific Society based on interest expressed by the Academy membership. Matthew Garibaldi, MS, CPO, and Glen Thompson, MS, CPO, will serve as the society's inaugural co-chairs.

The Academy's Bone-Anchored Prosthetics Scientific Society's Mission
Advance the clinical care of individuals with bone-anchored prostheses by investigating, educating, and cultivating best practices for clinicians through research, publications, and educational events. The society aims to facilitate interdisciplinary communication and collaboration between all stakeholders.

The Academy’s 10 Scientific Societies include members who are O&P clinicians, healthcare professionals across related disciplines, authors, researchers, engineers, residents, students, and others who pursue common goals in a specific area of orthotics and/or prosthetics. Those with expertise share freely with those seeking more information, and their common interests create a strong society with shared goals.
The areas of interest include Behavioral Sciences, Bone-Anchored Prosthetics, CAD/CAM, Craniofacial, Fabrication Sciences, Gait, Lower Limb Orthotics, Lower Limb Prosthetics, Spinal Orthotics, and Upper Limb Prosthetics.
