FALLS CHURCH, VA—The American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (the Academy), the leading association for orthotic and prosthetic professionals, is pleased to announce the appointment of Charity Quick, MBA, CAE, as its new executive director. Quick has more than 25 years of management experience in the nonprofit industry.
Before joining the Academy, Quick served as the Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer for the Biomedical Engineering Society. Prior to that, she served in the same capacity for the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering International.
Quick is dedicated to building strong teams, creating and sustaining partnerships, and championing member value. "I am honored and excited to be joining the Academy team. The Academy is a great organization with a strong history of service to the orthotic and prosthetic profession. I hope to bring my knowledge and experience to continue that legacy. Working with the board and staff, we will continue to implement the strategic plan and make progress on fulfilling the vision of driving professional excellence for quality O&P care," said Quick.

Quick will begin her role as the Executive Director of the Academy on July 17, 2023.
